Ari Lennox

Courtney Shanade Salter, also called Ari Lennox, a Washington, D.C.-based American singer/songwriter, was signed by the label's debut female singer with Dreamville Records by J. Cole. The first album she released on the label on October 21st, 2016, titled Pho. This is when she began gaining notoriety. Shea Butter Baby, her debut studio album was released 7 May 2019. Ari Lennox has been uploading her music since 2012 with her release of her debut mixtape "Five Finger Discount" and her EP Ariography. In 2014, Ari Lennox dropped her single Bound and her self-released mixtape Five Finger Discount. Sweat It is part of Omen's Elephant Eyes album which dropped on July 21st, 2015. J. Cole asked her to join him in collaboration for Rihanna's remark. Then, later in the year, her music was played around Dreamville. On the 8th of December, it was announced that she was officially signed by Dreamville Records. The singer appeared on the collaborative album Revenge of the Dreamers II featuring the track Backseat Cozz. The singer released Pho, her debut EP on October 21 in 2016. Ari Lennox was a guest on J. Cole's Change and also performed in her own 4 Your Eyez Only Tour as an opening artist. She also appeared as a guest on two songs with the EarthGang's Nothing but the Best song as well as Bas's Icarus. The 16th of July, 2018, Ari Lennox released the first single Whipped Cream of her album debut Shea Butter Baby with an accompanying music video, which was released on the 5th of September. On the 9th of November, she released two additional singles, 40 Shades of Choke as well as Grampa. Then, on November 13 she dropped two more singles entitled The No One and Pdigree. They then teamed up on the Creed II soundtrack with Cole on a track titled Shea Butter Baby on November 16, and it was released as a single in February, 2019 to accompany her debut album with the same title. The 20th of February, 2019, a music video was made available for the track. The track has received more than three million views on YouTube in its first week. As a supporting act, she toured with 6LACK in December 2018 on the From East Atlanta With Love Tour.
